My boyfrirnd and I had a wonderful time at the brookings coast for Fourth of July week; spending time with family, exploring the tidepools and enjoying the amazing beach weather. All in all it was a great time, minus the extraordinary display of discrimination that came from the owners of Portside RV Park. I give my fullest thanks and appreciation to the onsite management of Portside RV Park who fought for us to be able to stay and apologized end over end for the words and actions of the owners.

Truly kind management, friendly and caring! Went beyond to make us feel welcome despite all of the bumps in the road.

Owners on the other hand wouldn't allow myself and my boyfriend, a disabled vet to stay or visit with family due to our appearance.. my fire engine red hair (and im sure my piercings/tattoos) and his mountain man beard. They made a quick judgment on our character based on our appearance, and yet never once came around to apologize for themselves. If they would have taken the time to introduce themselves they would have found out that I have been a nanny for over 10 years and that my boyfriend gave 3 years of his life to the Army for his country. The owners only came around after we had gone.

We normally try to dry camp, but we needed real showers, to dump our black tank, and electricity to recharge our laptops since we work from the road. It's your normal snowbird, big rig kinda place. Clean. Across from the harbor and walkable to restaurants and a mailing place.

The trash dumpster was overflowing (okay, maybe not their fault), and they have coin-operated pay showers. Granted only .50-$1.00- but I am thinking that when you're already paying $44, the shower should be included!

Site #55 was level asphalt. (Bonus, wild berries near the trash dumpsters)

There's really nothing wrong with this park. It's clean and quiet and the people are all very nice.

It's just very, very tight. We were right up front and stuck out just a bit into the interior road. They did provide an orange cone and it was never an issue with rigs coming around the corner.

Asphalt and concrete with rock landscaping so challenging for doggies. No views as you're squeezed against the hillside with businesses between you and the marina.

Everything worked well. WiFi was sporadic although we were next to the office.

We'll find another park next time and hope for more room.

We check to see if we could stay couple of extra days. We are but will have to move. Not going to a problem just around the corner from where we are now.

Sites are mostly level, concrete and wide. This park is right in the heart of Brookings harbor yet peaceful and quiet. Excellent laundry. Able to stream with WiFi. Redwoods to the south 30 min away. Many state parks and beaches close by.

Site was mostly level and concrete. This park was easily accessible, not far from Hwy 101, across from Brookings harbor. Although on Lower Harbor Road, it was quiet. From front of park where our site was, had a nice view of the harbor. Great laundry room ($2 for each load if paying with coins - can pay with QR code for a .25 cent service fee). Overall we thought it was pricey, but had full hookups, with WiFi and cable included. WiFi was spotty and had difficulty connecting. Did not use the cable. We were there during heavy rain and there was a lot of standing water around our site. Would recommend drainage improvements. Because the park was clean and easily accessible, would stay here again.

Just passing thru Brookings on our road trip and we needed a site for 1 night. Pulled in with no reservation, luckly they had a few openings...

There are many private Rv parks in the area to choose from and many mobile home/trailer parks that call themselves a Rv Park but they surely are not. Think dumpy trailer parks...Portside was definitely the nicer of the bunch we checked out.

We sure were glad we found Portside and would stay again...The staff were helpful and friendly. And all the facilities were very clean. This park really is a tiny house village with some rv sites. Mostly concrete and asphalt surfaces throughout.

My only gripe would be the coin operated showers that had no adjustments for hot or cold, and an extremely hard spray.
