“transport yourself to another world”
In Southern Oregon only 18 miles inland from the coast, a half-hour drive to The Chetco River Inn transports you to another world. It is a place where the lulling sound of river rushing over stone calms the soul. The Inns' 36 very secluded acres on the banks of the Chetco River is surrounded by the Siskiyou National Forest. The Chetco River Inn caters to both nature lovers and anglers, and makes for a great getaway. Ideal for family or work vacations, reunions, workshops, and retreats for those seeking outdoor activities. The Inn's thirty-six acres offer bird watching, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, kayaking, rafting, or simply floating down river. People wishing to explore the Oregon coast can easily drive to Brookings, Harris, Whaleshead beach, or your choice of many other coastal parks. Excellent golf courses are also nearby.
There's two rentals here, a 5 bedroom lodge, and a 2 bedroom cottage, depending on how many people you're traveling with. Either way, this peaceful, off-the-grid riverside stay makes the best place to relax.
The Chetco Gorge Trail follows gentle grades as it winds along the Chetco River. It makes an enjoyable day hike, with some picnicking and camping spots at the trails end. As the trail is close to the mouth of Eagle Creek, there are good fishing and swimming spots. Care should be taken to avoid poison oak. Note: Fording of Chetco River is only safe during low water periods, usually late spring to early fall.
