“One of NASCAR's loudest tracks”
Bristol Motor Speedway, formerly known as Bristol International Raceway and Bristol Raceway is a NASCAR short track venue located in Bristol, Tennessee. Constructed in 1960, it held its first NASCAR race on July 30, 1961. Despite its short length, Bristol is among the most popular tracks on the NASCAR schedule because of its distinct features, that include extraordinarily steep banking, an all concrete surface, two pit roads and stadium-like seating. It has also been named one of the loudest NASCAR tracks. Also home to the NHRA drag racing Thunder Nationals... (Featured track/location for 2014 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing)
Bring ear plugs because this place gets loud! Maybe the most "stadium" like of all tracks with grandstands rising all around. Featured in the movie "Cars." Should be on every racing fans bucket list.
Save your time and money. This place is not all its cracked up to be. Cramped in a city, race is boring, facilities are next to none, parking is just as expensive if you choose not to park on the side of the highway and walk a mile. Worst track I've visited, and its nothing close to what short track racing should be.
