Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 27, 2023For a stay by the water, this is a nice campground. The majority of the campground is in deep shaded forest, with only a handful of sites in the lower loop that have a view of the water. For those with solar, these sites are the only ones that get sunlight.
The campground on the whole is clean, but the restrooms are old and dirty. There are flush toilets, restrooms with electricity, and running tap water. There are outdoor water spigots around the campground.
Heed the warnings about poison oak. It is everywhere along the water and in the forest.
Low tide is a great time to harvest oysters. A license can be purchased just down the road. Occasionally, seals can be seen from shore.
The driveway to get out is quite steep.

Seal Rock Campground, Jefferson Co., Washington. Here is this sloped, funky, US Forest Service Park on Hood Canal where the camp host drives the Partridge Family Bus. and where you can harvest oysters or clams without a license, and it will make you oh so happy if you stay there. And speaking of clam chowder, if you're the cook, I prefer the Manhattan style over the New England. Thank you for asking. For more info. contact http://campeverycountywa.com/jefferson-county.html

We almost did not go in here because they said the limit was 21 feet for RVs. We decided to drive down, park and walk around We found plenty of sites for larger rigs Our site was rather large and would fit a 40 foot rig easily. We had water views. Some sun for solar, not much. It is heavily forested and there is Highway noise from 101. It did get quiet in the evening. It's great for one maybe two nights. It is a steep drive out but very doable. We stayed June 20, 2018.

We only stayed here one night as it was a last minute plan before we needed to be somewhere else, but we could have easily stayed here longer.
We took one of the sites on the drive along the water. We could walk up into the woods to a picnic table, fire ring and tent area or from our bus we could stare out at the water. The sites farther up the hill are all in the woods and feel more private than they actually are.
Our 23 foot rig had no problem fitting. The sites are decent size but the turns through the park may be hard for something much bigger.
There is a walking trail above the beach or you can walk on the beach if the tide is out. You can also harvest your own oysters here (18 oysters per person per day).
It was just so pretty and we really enjoyed lounging in our hammocks in the trees while also having the water right there.
Great service on AT&T so internet was no problem.

We were worried coming in here because web site recommends 21’ max. There were plenty of sites that would accommodate us. We were in site 7 for one night, a pull thru and a bit tight, but doable. We moved next to the water the next day where the biggest sites are. Overall a great Campground. The bathrooms were clean, no trash around, and right on the water. It was pretty full while we were here, come early for a spot (before 10 or 11) and probably earlier on Fridays. Half price with Access Pass ($9).

If you get a spot with even a tiny ocean view like we did (36), it is really sweet. It is nicely landscaped, clean, and well-run. It is an easy stroll to a fantastic, dog-friendly beach. Campers were quiet and considerate, not a party scene. There is not a lot of space between sites, but the landscaping helps. We will be back!

Arrived on a Sat afternoon in Aug. there where a few sites available. We were able to get a site that fit our 30’ TT. Site 11. There are a few sites that could accommodate around 30’ we saw when walking the campground. They are first come, first served. I have T-mobile and had service; hubby has Verizon and had service. The sites are mostly shaded if you’re relying on solar or starlink.

Encircling Olympic National Park, on the mid elevations, is the Olympic National Forest. The forest offers a diverse landscape ranging from lush ancient rain forests to deep canyons to high mountain ridges to ocean beaches. The Olympic National Forest is located on the Olympic Peninsula in the northwest corner of Washington State. The Olympic Peninsula is synonymous with diversity. Landscape settings range from temperate rain forest to rain shadow, saltwater beaches to snow capped mountains, and large lowland lakes to mountain tarns. There is a wide range of recreational opportunities including camping in one of the several campgrounds.
