We have stayed here several times. The park is nice and clean. It is relaxing during the week but very busy on the weekends. The FHU sites are almost all back in and placed around one of the stocked fishing ponds. There is a pool, splash pad, clubhouse, dog park and more. They have no cable but our tailgater Dish worked well and there were also many OTA channels. Both our Verizon and ATT cell phones worked. Their WiFi worked until the park got really full. You can rent kayaks and even golf carts. The check in staff is friendly. We are self contained so I didn't check out the restrooms or showers.

They keep the grounds up nicely here, and there is lots of fishing! The sites are level, have concrete pads, fire rings, picnic tables and full hookups. Easy to maneuver for big rigs. The sites are pretty close together and people drive pretty fast through the campground. It wasn’t full when we were there so it was quiet at night.

Poches RV park is nice, well maintained, and has number of amenities. We had a wonderful weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. We canoed in the Shake Your Trail Feather festival on Bayou Teche. The RV park was close the the canoe trailhead. Take the time to explore the city of Breaux Bridge. Go to Poches Market and buy some pork sausage stuffed with jalapeos. Also, be sure to make a reservation and go eat at Little Big Cup in Arnaudville about 15 minutes away.

Stayed in campsite #69. Back-in site with concrete parking, picnic table, and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water, and sewer hookups. It has a nice grass area with fire pit in the rear of the site next to the lake. Not much shade in the campsite. The site is located on the lake. Neighbors were pretty close. Roads in the park were asphalt or gravel.

The free WiFi throughout the park was adequate for checking emails, surfing the web, etc.

We camped in a Travel Trailer. Would definitely stay here again.

Our 45' 5th wheel is sometimes a challenge, more often it's me that's challenged. This is one of those places. We picked a site in between the ponds. The road is fairly narrow for me to get my long rig backed in - and to not drop the front of the truck in the pond! I managed, but was glad there were open sites on either side of me. Otherwise, the sites are level, good concrete, adequate utilities - though the placement of the water spigot is such close proximity to the sewer connection concerns me. The water is municipal and rather highly chlorinated.

The roads inside the park are deteriorating pavement which means some sections are essentially gravel. The public roads leading to the park are likewise in poor shape, though not the fault of the park. The indicated route from I-10 leads across a narrow bridge with a 5 ton weight limit posted. I'll be looking for an alternate route out.

One of the odd things was the expectation that we wear tight-fitting wrist bands for the entire duration of our stay. We were there 3 weeks. It wasn't highly enforced during the off-season, but if it was that might be a deal breaker for me.

The area has a lot to discover and enjoy. This was our first time in a Cajun dominant cultural area and the history and food have been wonderful to learn and enjoy. The nearby Atchafalaya NWR and surrounding water features were stunning in their winter mode, we fully intend to be back in this area when it's all leafed out.

Just a couple homesteaders

Sites 1-12 Have the least pot holes in the roadway.

Site 4 has a large wood swing at pond’s edge

Our campfire ring was under the next sites camper slide out, so totally unuseable

Some site concrete pads have a foot drop off to the surrounding grass/dirt

Quiet, secluded, great WIFI, and lake views everywhere! So glad we came here. Was nervous about wifi since we work on the road but it’s fantastic. We didn’t get the passport rates but so glad we paid more for the spots over by the cabins (61,62,63). Nobody was staying there and we had the area all to ourselves. It was much more spaced out than along the rows. Roads are bumpy in but doable. Doesn’t allow check in/checkouts on Saturdays. Golf cart rentals $50/day weekdays and $75 weekends. Catch n release most bass but will let you keep catfish and others based on the pond you fished from. Sunsets beautiful. Walmart nearby.

We love to camp at Poches. The store, pool, park, splash pad, 5 fishing ponds, kayak and paddle boat rentals, gold cart rentals, pet park, Crafts and live entertainment on Saturday nights are some of the amenities we love.

The park owner are nice. In the works is an open outside stage.

The only complaint is the roads entering the park need repairing; but, is not impassable.

The back could be hard for big rigs to access.

Overall this is our favorite local campground to spend our weekends.

I suppose if you know what you’re doing, there are fish, but we didn’t catch any. Nice spot for visiting Acadiana. The roads in and out of the campground, and the connectors to the highway, are horrible but, it’s Louisiana. The sites are concrete and back in. Some have drop offs on either side of the concrete, and are angled differently which, combined with the poor condition of the road could make a challenging back-in. Once settled, however, it’s a great stay! Hook ups are in the back of the site so be ready to stretch water and sewer connections.

We camped here in March, 2015 in a 35 foot fifth wheel. The rate shown is the Passport America rate.

The campsites are arranged around a large fishing pond lined with Cypres trees. Most of the sites are back ins with a paved pad, full hookups, and WiFi. There are 3 pull through sites. There are several ponds for fishing, a clubhouse, swimming pool, and laundry. The staff was great. Many thanks to them for recommending Fun in the Sun RV Repair to repair our heater and many thanks to the repairman who came out in the rain the same day we called him and got it fixed.

The campground is about 5 miles from I-10 and easy to find. Just follow the signs. We also enjoyed eating at Poche's Market and Restaurant where we enjoyed some authentic Cajun food. I had fun shopping in their large market for meat, sausage, cracklins, and Cajun spices. We'll be enjoying some of their Andouille along the road and when we get home.
