“A mall set high in the sky”

The Prudential Center Skywalk Observatory is the only observatory in New England offering a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Greater Boston area and beyond. Offering the best view of the city, the Skywalk Observatory is the ideal place to begin a tour of Boston. On a clear day, you can see up to 100 miles away—a great way to get acquainted with this lovely city. Visitors gain a bird’s eye view of Boston’s Hancock Tower, Fenway Park, the Boston Common and Public Garden, the Esplanade and Hatch Shell, the Charles River, MIT, Harvard University, and countless other Boston landmarks.

Great 360 degrees of the whole city, and great info about what you are looking at. I like this observatory much more then the Empire State Building, and the Willis tower because the Prudential Skywalk is only 50 stories above ground and Boston is so physically small. Boston is also great to look at from the air because unlike New York and Boston there aren't any Skyscrapers. Great views of Fenway, Cambridge, the Charles River, and a sea of red brick buildings and churches. The Skywalk also has a bunch of very engaging exhibits about Boston's immigrant history.

A little expensive for what it is (but I say that about any tall building with a view. I wouldn't pay to go to the top of the Empire State Building either.) but the view really is spectacular. I wouldn't spend too much time in the Prudential Center itself, since it's basically just a fancy mall, but the Skywalk is worth doing once. Parking is limited (pretty much everywhere in Boston), I find it easier to take the T.

Loved this place! We used our Boston Go Pass towards the entry fee. We were able to enjoy the views and our 6 year old was completely entertained and engaged with the audio tour. Time and money well spent. Worth it!

What an awesome audio tour! I spent the ($11?) and as an audio tour junky I was totally pleased. A bit difficult to reach. You have to go into the prudential center and make sure you're looking for the Skywalk.
