“see Idaho's first sea turtle!”
The Idaho Aquarium is now open to the public 10am to 8pm daily. Our 10,000 square foot facility houses over 35,000 gallons of saltwater and over 250 different species of animals and marine life. Though not all of the facility is complete, there is room for a large 130,000 gallon shark tank, seals, amazon, and sea otter exhibit that are in the planning and design stage. Please visit our exhibits page for more details on the current exhibits available.
Very small aquarium…. Cute. Great for kids and touch tanks. Hands on activities. Few unique fish. But in general a very very small place. Not sure how they are planning on housing otters or even if they should be given their size. It’s more of an extravagant fun kids hands on museum than an aquarium.
Just be aware of your a regular aquarium visitor not to expect a big one as in other cities.
Do check the admission price on their website. It isn't free, nor should it be!
Hours are 10am to 5pm daily
Fun place to visit. Bigger than it looks from the outside. They have a fun place that your kids can touch all sorts of marine life.
