We are in the process of selling our house in the bay area and have been rv-ing on various campgrounds in northern California for the last 6 weeks. Here are our impressions of the Bodega Bay RV Park:
• In July it is foggy in the mornings, windy in the afternoons and cool to cold in the evenings.
• The RV Park is very busy on weekends.
• The water pressure (particularly on weekends) is low.
• There is very limited grocery shopping within a radius of 25 miles
• The small and intimate Farmers Market (Sun 10AM – 2PM) right next to the RV Park offers some interesting choices plus live music.
• The hole in the wall restaurants “Boathouse” and "Stud Point" offer excellent and affordable clam chowder and fish & chips.
• If you are traveling with dog and enjoy walking your dog off-leash, Sonoma County is the wrong place to go. The dog policies in the county are so restrictive, it is ridiculous. What saved us and our dogs was the lovely private “off leash” Dillon Beach about 15 miles from Bodega Bay. For a parking fee of $8 your dog gets to enjoy a very long off-leash beach. Also, next to the campground is an open field we used to have the dogs chase balls off-leash.

This is a pretty nice park in a resort area. The sites are close together, row on row but not too close. It seems like a typical non-park campground. It is very close to Bodega Bay and all of the water activities of the Bay and the Pacific Ocean. There are many restaurants within a short distance most of them specializing in seafood. The hosts were very pleasant. The bathrooms were reasonably clean. The only noise came from other campers and the foghorn in the bay.

RV park is small and good luck of finding any leveled spot. Everything is on the pricy side, from site rate, laundry, fire pit rental or a cup of coffee. There is disabled parking for restroom and showers but it is not wheelchair accessible. As a matter of fact you will be not able to roll up from the middle/lower part of the park to the street in a manual chair, only if you have a powered chair. Also, you are not able to walk to any of the close restaurants or little stores, as the street is too narrow with no shoulder and extremely windy. We went the only possible trail to ocean and after 3 miles got stuck literally 40 feet on the last dune before the ocean as the boardwalk was not maintained and just stopped...... but continued the last 25 feet over the dune to the ocean. So a real disappointment - why put all the handicap signs up and provide parking if you can't go anywhere? Park very busy and foghorn constantly.

Being new to the travel trailer scene, we had little expectations as to good or really good RV parks. My wife and I were very pleased and enjoyed our stay here. The facilities and amenities are very well maintained as well as the stalls and guest areas. It is very quiet in the evenings with everyone we encointered friendly and open to offers an help if needed. I definitely recommend this park and definitely will be a repeat guest.

Although the location is great, don’t stay here if you have kids or want to talk with friends. We had two families and literally got followed around the campsite. We also got a phone call that our kids were unattended (our 9, 11, and 12 year olds kids were waking between RVs).

Extremely well maintained park. Restrooms were spotless and sites are nicely maintained and fairly level.
The camp is really quiet and relaxing, the host is wonderful and gave us great suggestions of things to do and places to visit during our stay. She also told us about a great Farmer’s market that sets up right next to the park on Sundays during the summer.
There’s a Mexican restaurant and a small cafe near the entrance and the office has a good DVD collection to loan out on top of cable TV on most sites. Other campers were very friendly and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing.
Highly recommended!

While there is nothing technically wrong with the campground, the area is not close to the water and you need to drive everywhere. Not our cup of tea. Clean site, clean bathrooms and well maintained. I found the staff to be okay but not very friendly or helpful.

We loved this location and staff. Great Wifi. Very Quiet. Close to everything. Very clean restrooms and showers. All spaces are gravel and some have a steep slope but we were able to level. Well stocked store with various RV parts.

Immaculate grounds, laundry and restrooms. Sites are reasonably sized. Excellent complimentary DVD catalogue, which is good because the wifi is terrible. About a mile to a gorgeous beach (you can walk or drive through the state park). Walking to town is suicide along hwy 1, so you will have to drive even though it is very close. Doran Regional park is great for easy lounging on tbe beach. Not much sun but 65 degrees better than 100 inland. Good seafood but Very Expensive. The little town of Bodega where The Birds school scene was filmed is just up the road. Overall, a very good value considering the other RV park is more than double the rate.
