Blue Rock State Park is located in Muskingum Co., 16 miles southeast of Zanesville. The park has rugged hills and rich green forests which provide a backdrop to escape to natural solitude. Go hiking on 3 mi. of nature trails, or horseback riding on 26 mi. of trails in the state forest (bring your own horse). Picnic areas have picnic tables and grills, along with reservable shelterhouses. Nature programs provide family entertainment all summer long. Pitch your tent or park your RV on one of 101 non-electric campsites. Campers use the showers at the beach. Pets on a leash are permitted on designated sites. Enjoy hassle-free camping in a Rent-A-Camp tent or Camper Cabin. 15-acre Cutler Lake offers a sand swimming beach. Enjoy laid-back boating, limited to canoeing, sailboating or boats with electric motors only. Boat rental is available. Fishing can be enjoyed from the shoreline or on the lake. Hunting is permitted in season in designated areas.

Boondock spot. Cute, small camp, nice trails near a “lake” for fishing. Fall colors were amazing. Lots of families.

Just some caveats that may concern some people:
Pit toilet by the entrance is atrocious. There’s another in the cabin loop that was fine.
The rv allowed sites on the creek side have signs that say they may flood in heavy rainfall. Didn’t see that on the reservation site.
**Coming from highway 70, google maps had me going through some windy, narrow, hairpin turns. Come to find out, it was routing me away from some road construction on route 60. DONT LET GOOGLE REROUTE YOU! It was so bad I was cursing the whole way hoping I wasn’t about to hit a dead end somewhere. Had my fridge bust open on a 15 mph hairpin that I was going less than that on. Absolutely bonkers. Leaving, I took 60 and was just fine.
