“peaceful and comfortable place to relax”

Enjoy the Beartooth & Crazy Mountains plus the Boulder & Yellowstone Rivers!   We host RV sites, cabins, tenting, weddings, family reunions and group gatherings.   We are situated on 15 acres along the beautiful Boulder River - a Montana blue ribbon trout stream. The Boulder River flows into the majestic Yellowstone River 3 miles downstream of the campground. We are 1.5 hours from the North Entrance (Gardiner, MT) of Yellowstone National Park.  The drive thru Paradise Valley along the Absaroka Mountains is absolutely beautiful. Glacier National Park is only 5 hours North West; there are several routes, depending on what you want to see and how quickly you need to get there.  If you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to relax you will find it here at Spring Creek. If you want to fish, hike, ATV, bird or wildlife watch, raft the rivers, golf or just enjoy the rivers and mountains - we have it all.  We have long-term and seasonal rates, and also can host weddings, reunions, events, etc.

This place is FANTASTIC!! Quiet, Clean & EVERYTHING is as advertised on the facility & location. Many of the RV sites are on the River. They have water & power at them, & an RV Dump station at the entrance/exit of the Campground. The hosts are kind, helpful & knowledgeable... and tho it's the middle of June, hardly any mosquitoes. Couldn't ask for more!!!

Two miles south of the little town of Big Timber. Get directions from the park as GPS may leave you in town. Short gravel road, narrow cattle guard, but easy access. Lovely setting among the trees. FHU sites are back-in and tighter than the long pull-through with water/electric. Our site was huge and 20 yards from the rushing river. You can hear it all night, wonderful. Small trout ponds on site - they will supply you with everything from poles to bait, two fish per person per day, no catch and release. They even clean the fish for you. We didn't fish the ponds but the kids were pulling them out like crazy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and quiet. Gate locks at 10 pm, opens at 6 am. Showers and restrooms. A few rental cabins on the river side.

Be sure to eat at the Thirsty Turtle - fabulous menu! Natural Bridge State Park and Gallatin National Forest 20 miles south.

Our ATT mifi didn't work, but their WiFi is better than most. It worked well except for the peak hours. Our satellite worked fine until the winds kicked up.

We're staying there again in a week - so yes, we like it a lot.

Would I camp here again? Maybe, in a different site. This is a sweet campground in the middle of nowhere and when I read good WiFi, we were hooked as we had some business to take care of. We called and requested Site 6 overlooking the river.

Sites 1-13 are gravel, dusty and much too snug and as seasoned travelers, we should have known better. Exhausted after a long day we arrived early evening and enjoyed the serene river view. The next morning, however, the quads used by the park continually made their way between Registration and the owner's residence hauling wood. This ran just a few yards in front of our rig, about every 7-8 minutes. Along with the quads came the dust. Normally we would request a change in site, but after a couple of hours we packed up and hit the highway as the Wifi was not worthwhile.

Sites 1-13 are definitely too tight. Kudos to the resort for not filling in the spots in between. If you choose Spring Creek Campground, do not be lured into river sites 1-13.

Had 1 night here, wish I’d had more! Beautiful place on the Boulder River. I had site 18 on the riverfront, with a nice pine tree for shade. Was escorted to the site and helped back in. Only drawback was no sewer hook up on the River, but other sites offered it. The trout ponds were pretty and kids loved feeding the fish. Friendly hosts, very helpful and highly recommended campground in Big Timber .

We stayed in the dry camping circle. Camp spot on the river with picnic table and fire ring.
Very clean restrooms and showers.
Nice place ground and fishing pods.
Easy drive to Big Timber.

We stayed at Spring Creek for a total of 3 nights. Two in site 16 and one in site 61.

The park is well laid out with multiple stocked trout ponds for fishing as well as wide open grassy area's. Cell coverage was extremely limited and the park wifi was a bit iffy. The sites lacked sewer, but that's a byproduct of being able to be so close to the river. There is a dump station on site.

For the sites -

Site 16 - Touted as the best site in the park and they really aren't wrong. It's right on the river, about 6 feet out your front door. If you have young kids, something to keep in mind. The river was moving at flood stage so it was incredibly loud, this of course isn't the park owners doing so no take away on ratings for that. The only very minor complaint, the hookup for water/power is on the wrong site of the site so you need a very very long hose/power cord or you have to be very far forward in the site.

Site 61 - This is a great location, grassy, quiet and at the edge of the park. Well shaded, comfortable and very spacious.

We stayed there twice one night each. We were escorted by a grumpy man who was either an owner or manager. When I go camping I’m trying to get away from controversy. This manager or owner had a very large in your face Trump flag flying. We didn’t see it the first time but the last time we saw it. I don’t care what party you like but could we at least keep stuff like this out of campgrounds. I won’t be back.

Stayed 9/17/20 - Just traveling through Montana from North Dakota. Needed a pull-through site for one night and a place to do laundry. This CG was nice and well maintained. They assign you spots but ask ahead of time what you require. The spots that were right along the river were really nice and, if we had been staying longer, would have been willing to pay extra for those full-hook up sites.

The CG was pretty full and mostly big rigs. Looked like people spend quite a long time at the CG, maybe even the season. It was pretty convenient to the little town of Big Timber.

We had a site with W/E but not sewer. Had planned to use the dump (even though it was only one-night's worth of gray/black) as we weren't certain of our next stop. Unfortunately, someone pulled in right before we got there and they had no idea what they were doing so we left without dumping. Would probably be better to have the dump station inside the CG gate so random people (even though there is a sign) can't use it. This RV did not look like it had stayed at the CG.

Picture perfect river running down beside us all night. The rapids drown out all sounds of anything outside nature.

Get here early they were closing the gate at 6:00

Camped with a group of fellow RV’ers. Check in was very efficient. The campground is very diverse and spread out along the wide swift creek. Either end of the campground had shaded grassy areas while the center was graveled without shade. The bathhouses are adequate with the original one being pretty tight and aged. There are two stocked trout ponds fished by many. One camper learned quickly dogs are not allowed to wade in the pond.
Location: fairly close to Big Timber but not walkable. Nestled in trees along Spring Creek, not visible from the road. Town of Big Timber very quaint and friendly folks and businesses.
Connectivity: Due to being surrounded by mountains, cell service was very minimal. However in town AT&T, T Mobile and Verizon were 5G and fast.
Activities: had a wonderful 2 hour trail ride from a nearby horseback outfitter; enjoyed the Sweetwater Festival in town with vendors and car show.
