“Majestic waterfall”
Tumalo Falls is a day use area on Tumalo Fals Rd, 12 miles west of Bend. Follow Franklin Ave. west from downtown Bend through the park to Galveston Rd. This turns into Skyliner Dr. (paved) which leads to Tumalo Falls Rd (gravel). There is a picnic area, toilet, and an uphill (possibly wheelchair accessible?) path to a falls overlook. This is also a trailhead for numerous hiking and mountain biking trails in the area. There is a $5 per day use fee or use a Northwest Forest Pass or Golden Eagle Pass.
Amazing waterfall. Lots of people don't know you can get to the bottom of it so if you ask and they say there's no way to get to the bottom don't listen to them. It is very scary at the bottom, but only if you're under the waterfall. Overall 5 stars
Perfect for a family that doesn't want to hike too much! The first part is steep but after viewing the waterfall from above, find the little narrow path to go to the bottom and behind the waterfall! Read the panel at the entrance about the long term damage of forest fires...
Loved this place. You can hike up to the waterfall for a stunning view and continue upstream. Not too crowded. Even better, take the time to hike down to to bottom of the falls about 10 min. It is a bit steep and narrow but totally worth it to stand right underneath the falls. Don't forget to look up!
Majestic waterfall with hiking trails and day-use area.
