Welcome to the Bunkhouse Motel and Gift Shoppe! We invite you to stay and enjoy the Bunkhouse Motel in historic Belle Fourche (Beautiful Fork) South Dakota. This was the epic end-of-trail town for the famous cattle drive in John Wayne’s 1972 movie “The Cowboys”. Our small but quaint western-themed motel is located directly off Hwy. 85 where it intersects Hwy. 34 just 10 miles North of Interstate 90 at exit 10. While here visit the gift shop in the lobby that offers Native American jewelry, crafts, Black Hills Gold and Western art for sale. Amenities include clean affordable rooms with TV, great home-style cooking at the Belle Inn Restaurant directly across the parking lot, golf at the Belle Fourche Country Club just across the street and all of the beautiful scenery and historic destinations of the Black Hills one could take in.  Possible day trips might include the “Center of the Nation” Tri-State Museum right in Belle with over 5000 artifacts, Devils Tower, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer Battlefield, Deadwood, or the motorcycle mecca of Sturgis. The surrounding area offers some of the most beautifully scenic motorcycle touring roads available. Stay at the motel and bring your bike then head out on your own, or speak with us before departing and we will fill you in on where some of the best riding is located. You could also hike, bike or picnic in Black Hills National Forest or Spearfish Canyon. Maybe the kids would rather visit Reptile Gardens, Bear Country or Wonderland and Jewel Caves? For a bit further of an adventure visit the Badlands, Wall Drug or the Pioneer car museum in Murdo. Winter activities include downhill skiing at Terry Peak or Deer Valley and cross country, snowshoeing or snowmobiling nearby. Forty miles of trails on the Wyoming side connect to some 350 miles of trails on the South Dakota side.
