“As seen in Forrest Gump”
This swing-style bridge was featured in Forrest Gump as he ran across the country. It was on this bridge the TV reporters asked him why he was running. The Woods Memorial Bridge is a unique swing bridge, and is one of only nine moveable bridges still in use in the entire State of South Carolina. It certainly is one of the most photographed of all of Beaufort’s landmarks.
