“Figure-8 trail covering 1.3 miles”
This is a great trail for families and birders. Common loons, common eiders, great blue herons, black guillemots, ospreys and eagles have been seen here. A variety of habitats can be viewed along the shore, and there is access to a quiet cove and mudflats at low tide.
One of our favorite hikes in Acadia! It's an easy trail with great views and it's fun to play on the rocks at low tide.
Located on Seawall Rd, this is a fairly quick and easy trail which is approximately a 1.4 mile loop (figure 8) and takes around half-hour to complete. Pleasant forest trail which also meanders along Ship Harbor and the Gulf of Maine. Trailhead is from a parking lot. There is a vault restroom there as well.
