“the historic Tom Moore Distillery”
The Barton 1792 Distillery operates on the site of the historic Tom Moore Distillery, established in 1879 near the "Tom Moore Spring", the same spring we draw our iron-free limestone water from today. The 192-acre distillery is home to beautiful wildlife and many historic buildings, including our still house and 28 aging warehouses. The legendary ‘Warehouse Z’ stands tall on the western bluff enjoying full summer sun and optimal air-circulation for aging bourbon whiskey. It is in this warehouse that 1792 Ridgemont Reserve ages to the peak of maturity
We have stopped at Barton’s twice. Both times we just missed the tour. However, you can do a free tasting without the tour. The tasting includes a taste of Barton’s 1792 bourbon, Very Old Barton, and the Bourbon Ball liquor which you can only purchase at the gift shop. Stop for the Bourbon Ball Liquor!
Great stop to stretch your legs and pick up some excellent bourbon
Did the tasting and picked up a couple of bottles of 1792!
Very cool. Love my 1792!
