Bandon Dunes Golf Resort

One of Oregon’s 7 Golf Gems, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort opened in 1999 with much fanfare, but you don’t have to be a golfer to appreciate this gorgeous, rugged course.  Designed by Scotsman David McKay Kidd, the course is perched on a bluff high above the Pacific Ocean and unfolds along sweeping untamed shores, primal grassy dunes and towering coastal forests.  Nearly every hole was conceived to be in harmony with the natural environment and golfers can expect dramatic ocean views and a new experience at every hole, every time it’s played.

Since its inception, Bandon Dunes has inspired three more world-class golf courses at the resort: Pacific Dunes, Bandon Trails and Old Macdonald, as well as a 13-hole par three track (Bandon Preserve) and an 18-hole putting course (The Punchbowl). It’s perennially ranked among the top golf resorts in the world and is one of the few American golf retreats true to the legacy of Scotland’s ancient links.

Bandon Dunes is committed to the economic vitality of the region; it employs nearly 400 caddies during the high season and supports projects that protect the rich lands and waters on the Southern Oregon Coast through its grant-funding organization, the Wild Rivers Coast Alliance (WRCA).
