“Outdoors & Recreation in Sun Valley, AZ”
Lacey Points is an overlook providing panoramic views of the Painted Desert section of the park.
So the painted desert is actually inside the Petrified Forest Lacey point is one of the stops along the drive. Definitely worth a stop. It's absolutely beautiful there. It is a national park, so it does cost $25 to get in. Totally worth it though. And if you plan on visiting multiple Parks you can buy an annual pass for 80 bucks. Since we are going to Carlsbad caverns this is what we opted to do. Anyway it's a beautiful drive. It would probably take a couple of hours. Make sure you have gas water and snacks. Lots of places to have a little snack and look around. I wouldn't say this was like hiking or anything. But it's beautiful to drive to each pull out.
