Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on February 21, 2023This is the perfect place to stay if you want to camp near the Grand Canyon. We walked or rode our bikes everywhere. It was so beautiful! Just know that you need to make your reservations months in advance!!! When I originally tried to book, they were full. But I kept checking back in daily and one a spot opened up. I think people book several days not knowing exactly when they will be there and then let the dates go that they don't need.
Perfect location for Grand Canyon. The bus comes right to this park to go to all of the stops and sights. The park had an elk that wandered all around eating grass and whatever else he could find. It was fun to see where he would be and how close he got and for us it was in the next camper spot! Made for great pictures and we followed the rules and didn't bother him. The only downside- no showers here. You have to drive to the next campground and then pay $2 per shower. It worked, just not ideal if you prefer to shower in the provided facilities. I would stay here again.
The campgrounds were nice enough. Exacy what you would expect, but most the amenities were closed due to COVID. This is fine but none of this was advertised during booking. The showers and laundry were closed. How can the park still charge regular and full price when you get half the amenities?
Perfect place to stay at the grand canyon. You are in the park and directly next to most of the trails. Easy walk to the rim.
We met up with friends and enjoyed the easy access to the rim - walking or the free buses. To fully enjoy your first visit to the park it is nice to be close and not have to deal with the busy parking lots.
Check-in was slow as the staff is a little overwhelmed no mater how many or how few people are there. However, they are friendly and do their best. We had some issues getting our reservations in adjacent spaces. The staff worked hard to make that happen.
Sites are easy to access, new power poles and resurfacing this year. Each space has a picnic table and grill with full hookup. The spaces are not all level and we did have some challenges in our space getting level.
Bus access all over the canyon was easy and walking to the store or the rim is an easy option.
The park is visited by Elk daily who are not at all shy.
We had no issue with cell/data access on Verizon or T-Mobile.

We stayed here in November and found the spots to be nice. The camground was busy but not packed. Pretty quiet at night since there are NO CAMPFIRES ALLOWED (bummer).
Over all the place was nice and is soooo close to the Canyon it is perfect. Tons of Elk and deer activity evident and just a gorgeous place to camp.

Grand Canyon National Park is simply put one of the most amazing experiences one can invest in. The feeling when you first approach the rim is, and I wouldn’t bamboozle you about something like this, utterly unbelievable until it happens. But of course, you and everyone else already knows that. I, on the other hand, skipped on by this big hole in the ground for years on road trips. I think I thought I was too cool for that school, or something.
I am not.
As for Trailer Village, well it automatically gets points from me simply for having the word “trailer” in it. Anything that alludes to the reality that while we may like to think of ourselves as living nomads, traveling bards, gypsy ambassadors to the hip crusade, in all reality, we are but slightly fancied up slices of American trailer trash (with deep roots to prove it) rolling around on an ever-breaking box on wheels. In fact, were it not for our desperate attempt to separate ourselves from the pack by purchasing a busted up old Airstream, we would probably not even know how to type let alone operate a website.
To be honest, if this park were anywhere else in the world it would probably be just another average place. But the fact that it cost us $32 / night to stay next to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and that every basic necessity was met: from the giant grocery store and cafe with WiFi not half a mile away to the free shuttle service Grand Canyon National Park provides.
Oh, and shooting stars beamed down over our heads on a nightly basis. Seriously, I started to wonder if Disney bought the rights to Grand Canyon and was adding a little extra movie magic.

The Grand Canyon Trailer Village puts you right in the heart of the action, with trails providing a way to walk/bike to the places you want to. It's a mile to the rim, which is the best selling feature. The sites aren't large or very scenic; however, we weren't at our trailer very much, so that wasn't very important.
We had a pleasant stay at Trailer Village. It is cheap and convenient. It was nice to be within the park and not have to drive in and out each day, especially since we stayed in the park after dark for the annual Star Party. If you want to see a sunrise over the Grand Canyon, this is the place to stay (we thought this would be really cool, but alas, we were not committed enough to wake up early).

It's ALL about location here and I don't think you can get much better. This is a pretty basic campground with rows of sites in "private-campground style" arrangement (one RV next to the other) with small gravel "sitting areas", full hookups+cable. No real "extras" here (no laundry, no WiFi, no showers), but you can get all three just down the road in the "camper services" building near Mather Campground. Also, site separation & privacy is so-so, and some sites are definitely closer together than we'd like. However the campground is super quiet and location cannot be beat. Only 1 mile to the rim, walkable from camp along the greenway trail. Plus it's all dog-friendly (incl. all rim trails). We loved the location & peace here, and would certainly come back.
Cellphone signal is very unstable here, so I definitely recommend a booster.

While the most obvious draw for Trailer Village is the location (you can walk to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and South Rim), it's actually a pretty nice campground too. The campground is huge: row after row of pull-through sites, and there was very high turnover. We'd walk our dog in the early afternoon and see the "Campground Full" sign and wonder at the many dozens of empty sites, but by late evening they were all full again, usually with Cruise America, El Monte, or Road Bear rentals. The sites are average in size... don't expect much privacy, but enough space to not feel cramped. Our site was extremely unlevel, and even with all our wood blocks and leveling jacks we could not get level (a first for us) and had to settle for a slightly crooked stay. We saw many other RVs in a similar predicament, though plenty of other sites looked fairly level. Our Verizon hotspot worked well in LTE, and AT&T worked pretty well at 3G. The park shuttle stops at the campground, there's a decent park-run grocery store adjacent to the campground, and lots of trails and paths for dog walking. We saw elk and mule deer in and around the campground almost daily. We paid $36 but a few days after we arrived we saw they changed the sign to read $44. Too bad, $36 was a pretty great rate in our opinion, for full hookups inside a major National Park. If and when we return to Grand Canyon we'll definitely be staying here again.
