A tribute to camel driver Hadji Ali, enlisted in an unsuccessful 19th century attempt by the US Army to use camels in the southwest.
Very small tomb but a cool story of the man who was in charge of the camel herding project with the US Army in 1857. Hadji Ali who became and was know as “Hi Jolly”.
Nice, historical stop. Quite a few Graves at this site. An explanation of the camel program is given on the accompanying signs.
