Harshaw was a mining town founded in the 1870s, and after several cycles of booms and busts, was finally abandoned in the 1960s. Several building foundations remain, as well as the cemetery. Located in the Coronado National Forest, it is accessible via a well-maintained dirt road; some buildings are on private property but can still be viewed from the road.
