“an Italian oasis nestled in a corner of the heartland”
An Italian oasis nestled in a tiny corner of the American heartland... Alessandro would like to share with you his wonderful recipes for the homemade Italian specialties that made him so well known throughout Florence. He hopes you’ll enjoy this “la dolce vita” of food as much as he does preparing it for you. Alessandro Pilumeli was born in Sicily and began working in restaurants there at the age of fourteen. His experience in Sicily was followed by seven years in the restaurants of Florence, Italy and four years in fine dining establishments in America. This gave him a first hand familiarity with both the beautiful foods of Italy and how to prepare them for American tastes. Out of this, the idea for Alessandro’s Ristorante bloomed.
