“The Ring on the road”
*** This place is on private property. Listing for informational purposes only. Please do not visit without express permission from the land owner.*** Another spooky spot along Empire Mine Road. There are a number of stories about the “Gates of Hell,” but most commonly local kids tell each other than if you pass through these seemingly innocuous gates, you will die exactly one year later from mysterious causes. Others say there used to be an insane asylum along this road and the gates are what’s holding back the spirits of the dead.
I'm from that area and let me say I've been passed those gates to the mansion tht was back in the hills it's spooky yes but I'm still alive and that's been almost 18 years ago. But I will say this do not 🚫🚫 go out there by yourself( I mean you shouldn't go period) there are strange things that do happen out there the place is haunted. Also there are coal mines in the area also and there is a ghostly female figure( The White Witch) that roams the area
I remember driving along that road before it was all boarded up in 2005-2006. It's either that one or the one that leads to the Slaughterhouse that my friends and I went up and down. I'm pretty sure my friends said that the Slaughterhouse was the Asylum and they converted it and broke most of the building down. That's why I thought it was the same road.
Anyways, if you stop about halfway up the road, it's a "Gravity Hill" and "something" pushes your car (or in my case a truck with spooked out teens) away from the building. The Legend said that there were kids that died in the Asylum and they want you to stay away from the danger so they push the back of your car to protect you. When we got out we all swore we could see children's handprints on the back of my black Toyota pickup. An adult ghost was also lurking around. We all thought we saw lights go on and off and flashes of white around the Slaughterhouse building. Super spooky place.
