“producing "old world" European style wines”
e are known for producing wine that are "A Song for the Palate". Our wines are produced in an "Old World" European style. We produce red wines that are dark in color, smooth, and rich in flavor from aging in oak barrels for a minimum of 2 years. Our white wines are produced with yeasts to bring out the full flavors of the grape and we lightly filtered to preserve those flavors. We produce approximately 1200 cases of wine each year. Because of the wide range of products we make, our production of each type of wine is small, generally around 100 cases of each. The goal is to be able to hand craft each wine with a balance between structure, acidity and flavor. Our other goal is to produce wines that are of a unique character. These choices are reflected in the process we use during production, the yeast selections we make and in some wines, the varietal blending we do.
Mia Sonatina is the culmination of a dream. We began as a virtual winery in 2003, and since have located our winery and tasting room in Amity, Oregon. We produce wines from grapes received from all over Oregon. Mia Sonatina, loosely translated means my little song. Our wines are a song for the palate.
