Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West is a Western Heritage attraction located on the rim of Palo Duro Canyon, in Amarillo, Texas- near historic Route 66. We offer horseback riding and other activities that focus on the heritage of the Real West. At our venue, we not only offer horseback riding, but also private chuck wagon meals for groups that includes cowboy entertainment, and a venue to learn about horsemanship, Old West History and also specific history of the Palo Duro Area. In addition, we also offer city tours, route 66 tours, and progressive tours that follow the trails of Cowboys and Indians and the trails leading up to the Santa Fe Trail. Join us and step back in time to the Old West, and experience ranching life in the New West.

What an unforgettable experience! We enjoyed every second and didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend saddling up here. Already missing my horse Roy.

My sister, nephew and I took the two hour trip today. What an amazing experience! Our tour started at 7:30am and the weather couldn’t have been better. We arrived just as the sun was rising, and before the heat of the day set in. The view of the canyon was breathtaking! Our photos don’t do it justice! Our guides, Jessica and Lauren, were amazing! We enjoyed their history of the canyon, and their knowledge of the area. We were blessed to have them as our guides, they helped to make our trip a positive experience! And let’s not forget our horses, Scout, Ace and Boone - they were handsome, friendly and gentle - very important because we are not horse people! I would definitely recommend this tour! And if you go, say hello for us! Hopefully we will return one day!

Embrace the Texan in you in this one-of-a-kind experience that can only be found in Amarillo.

We think this is one of the best things to do in Amarillo!
