“a convenient stopover in amarillo”
Situated in the middle of the Texas Panhandle, Amarillo is a convenient stopover for RVer's on their way to and from just about anywhere. Overnite RV Park is located just off I-40 at exit 75. Then head 2 blocks north and look for us on the left side of the road, across from the Pilot Truck Stop.

They offer full hookups and cable, although the picture isn't that great. There's a Pilot gas station with McDonalds and Subway which makes it easy to gas/grab a bite and go. There is an airport nearby but doesn't seem to operate at all hours of the night, helping keep the noise to a minimum.

I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of October. It is perfectly situated at the intersection of I-40 and the 335 Loop around the city. If you're coming from the north on 335, there is no visible sign and you will overshoot if not careful. The entrance is exactly opposite the Pilot gas station entrance. The office area is run down, but the campsites are in good condition and are separated by grass islands with trees. Some sites at the far end have dog runs. It is noisy. I-40 is on one side, a railroad track on the other, and it is directly in line with the runway at the city airport. If you don't like commercial and military aircraft flying over your head at 500 ft immediately prior to touchdown, this place is not for you. The airport did not operate at night while I was there.

Noisy from airport & freeway. Smell from dog food plant. Nice staff. Clean bathrooms. Used on way out & way back. Would use again for same purpose.

We stayed one night on our way South to warmer weather. Great staff. I needed a washer for the water supply line and they just gave it to me.
It is an older RV park, but clean. Not many other campers when we stayed.

No complaints. Nothing special. Lady was nice on the phone when I booked. They were closed when we arrived. Our receipt was on the door.
The spaces were pull through and wide enough. The grass was dead but the trees were green.
I walked the dog in a field outside the park at sunset that was full of prairie dogs. They were all out talking to each other. It was super cute.
No WiFi. 42 channels on the TV. It was right off the freeway so easy access.

This campground is an eyesore! It could be worth the money if they spent some time taking care of it and made the live ins keep there junk put away. It’s kind of like camping in a scrap yard.
The other thing is that the highway noise, the construction noise and the airport noise do not allow you to have windows open at all.

Airplane noise is significant until around 9pm. Highway noise and noise from nearby truck stops are a source of constant noise. Sites are close together as is common at RV parks. Convenient one night stop when traveling. Some sites have a private fenced area for your dog which is nice unless you are next to someone with noisy dogs that are left in the fenced area. Overall campground has a run down feel to it.

This is a great place to stay for a night or two. The park needs some love....weeds were high, grass and trees had not been trimmed in awhile, lots of things need painting, and the roads are a bit rough. In our spot 41, on the way up to Colorado on 5/30/2021, and then spot 42 on our way home from Colorado 6/18/2021, we didn't feel it was too loud. Even though the park is next door to a very bright and large new truckstop, it didn't bother us at all. My parents were parked one row closer to the truckstop each time and felt it was waaaaay too bright and noisy for their comfort level. The staff was nice, there's easy in and out access, and the site was large enough for us even though everyone's parked pretty close together. Not the worst place we've ever stayed, and not the best. They need some more groundskeepers for sure. My rate included a Good Sam discount.

We booked on the fly and got a spot easily. Bailey our host was very sweet. She handled a barking dog problem at 9 pm by calling the owner. There appear to be a lot of long term renters based on how their sites are set up. Yes, Pilot truck stop next to the park but I didn’t find it a problem. We would stay again if passing thru to AZ.
