“Fully Restored, Dutch Bed and Breakfast!”
Saravilla is a three story Dutch Colonial home built in 1894, and was originally a summer “cottage” for a prominent Michigan family. Located right in the middle of Michigan's lower peninsula, we are near Mt. Pleasant, Central Michigan University, and Soaring Eagle Casino and an easy drive to numerous golf courses and other recreational and cultural attractions. Saravilla offers a delightful taste of the Bed and Breakfast experience for everyone, from B&B first-timers to seasoned travelers. Our fully-restored, three story, 11,000 square foot Dutch Colonial home dates from 1894, when local lumber baron Ammi W. Wright built this “summer cottage” as a belated wedding gift for his daughter, Sara. Listed on the Michigan Historic Register, Saravilla boasts imported period woodwork, original wallcoverings, period light fixtures, leaded glasswork, and magnificent craftsmanship throughout. With its landscaped grounds, inviting front porch, landmark turret, seven very spacious welcoming guest rooms, and 1200-square foot ballroom, Saravilla delights our guests with the grace and charm of an era gone by. And what do our guests say? “We have traveled a lot and stayed at many B&Bs but this was, by far, the best.” “What a treat!” “Awesome, truly breathtaking.” “Beautiful and inviting.” “We can't wait to come back.” “Everything was wonderful” “Breakfast was absolutely superb!” “I recommend Saravilla to everyone.” “Looking forward to our next visit.” Awaken in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee, and the prospect of a delightful breakfast with fresh fruit and pastry and hot entrees. At your leisure, join us for breakfast on fine china, by the fire in our elegant Turret dining room. And the rest of your day? Relax before the fireplace in the library, linger on the broad front porch, play a game of pool in the billiard room, or unwind in our hot tub in the sunroom. Your hosts, Linda and Jon Darrow, look forward to making your stay at Saravilla a total treat.
