“bring the spinach!”
This is a bronze statue of everyone’s favorite sailor man located in Popeye Park surrounded by fountains. The annual Spinach Festival held third weekend in April celebrates Alma’s heritage as Spinach Capital of the World.
If you want a good picture with it, go in the middle of the day so that the light is good. We went early evening and the lighting was not good for photos.
Beautiful and green!! Perfect for family pictures and the wall mural was near as well! Little has mart across the street was clean and tidy- clean restrooms!
Really pretty park! It was a nice break from the trip. The Popeye statue was cool too. :p
Popeye staute is awesome. nice little break up from the drive.
A nice little fountain with a statue of Popeye in the middle. Would not drive too far out of the way but worth seeing if close by. My kids enjoyed it.
Simple little fountain with Popeye in the middle, and a tiny park, but it's nice stop on the road!
Came at 10pm TOTALLY WORTH IT. Just 3 min away off the exit love the back of the statue so hilarious I grew up to Popeye so I just had to
Super fun stop - if you’re driving east bound it’s easy to get to - if your driving westbound don’t listen to the maps app get off on the previous exit so it doesn’t make you back track.
Cute quick stop! No restrooms, but plenty of places to stop on the way in and out. Gazebo shaded for a nice lunch or rest. Parking lot across the street.
Great stop on our road trip! Beautiful garden, cute gazebos, a lovely mural and of course Popeye in all his glory atop a nice fountain! Cute town
