I prefer KOAs because they are usually very nice parks, kept clean, well stocked stores, and nice security and facilities. If there is a KOA in the area I am visiting, you can count on the fact that is where I will be. This one exemplifies all that is KOA.
This was my first time camping ever. It was amazing! Loved the clean bathrooms and showers. Staff was friendly and everything was super easy.
Easy to get to and find. Gated with night gate guard. Sites/roads all paved. Sites are adequate for a tree, picnic table and a fire pit. No problems with leveling or hook-ups. Wifi seems adequate but my Verizon Hotspot is faster. Really nice puppy parks; children playground; putt-putt golf. Hot tup (open), pool (closed - boo). Cable channels but mine was "fuzzy" so just used OTA HD channels. There are a number of restaurants near by. Really the only con is the price but then I guess you are paying for a secure, gated community with all the amenities.
A quality KOA
Was a friendly and homely place to stay and got a complementary cabin upgrade. It was our first time in Albuquerque and we had a great time. Do not go to the Family Dollar down the road though.
Laundry (no coin machine), nice folks working and camping, right up next to suburban homes and the freeway. Close to ABQ.
I was stuck here during an RV repair. When I drive from Texas to California, I'd rather stop anyplace else. The neighborhood is sketchy and industrial.

Once on site, it does not feel like you are within city limits. Level, shady spots. Clean restrooms with plenty of hot water.
Though the area outside the gates is pretty bad, the park was safe to walk around late at night.

This KOA was very convenient to relatives, so it worked for us. It's right next to I-40 and the noise can keep you awake at night if you have the windows open. But it's location can't be beat. The campground is clean and well kept. The hot tub is HOT, just the way we like it. The staff was very helpful. If we end up in ABQ again, this is definitely where we would stay.
