We are just starting out on our rv adventures. This was our shake down trip. Silly us we left Florida to head north for thanksgiving. I mentioned this to provide context for the review.
We chose to have a water front spot and we’re on a peninsula so we had a view of the bush river and a bay. There is a walk way along the water and piers with benches. The office has a nice water front porch with swings. We enjoyed all the ducks that appear to be permanent residents.
The sites are asphalt with a mix of pull ins and back ins. The bath house is a bit dingy and my wife decided that showering in the rv was preferable.
The park is well treed. We had rain while we were here, and the park doesn’t drain well so walking the dogs was not pleasant.
There are multiple train tracks just across the water on two sides and the train horn in the middle of the night can interrupt your sleep. Think “My cousin Vinny”.
Many of the sites seemed to be full timers and storage. The density of which appears far greater than on the site map. There are several houses converted into apartments on site. The surrounding neighborhood is very nice. But walking the street can be a little un-nerving as it’s hilly and winding, which would be a positive except 90% of the traffic comes from the parks full time residents who seem to drive a bit over the speed limit. There is not much else to choose from in the area.

I have family in Baltimore and was visiting. I was sick of hooking up to 15amp outlets and sweating in the heat so I booked a stay here. It was very nice! Right on the water, and while it looks very crowded, many people have campers here permanently and just visit on weekends, so it was really quiet during the week. The pool is pretty nice, and you can look out on the water while you're swimming! The campground is close to a lot of restaurants and stores, so it is just a short drive if you need anything. If you have a really big rig, you may have to do some finagling to park it, and there is very little space if you have a lot of Rvers checking in at the same time.

This was the 2nd camping trip in our new trailer and stands in stark contrast to the Lake Gaston Americamp in Southern VA. First off, it is not well-managed and, at $70+ / night was not a value by any measure.
They use a booking site, that functions only to assign you the worst spot on the property, as far as I can tell. The pictures uploaded are evidence of how badly the property floods when it rains. I went to the office and complained, so they moved us from the swamp we were in (M10) to what they described as “our site of last resort” (P15). It was a tiny triangular plot between to large motorhome sites. The only possible explanation for its existence was the management thought they might be able to make an extra $70 a night off some desperate travelers. The 50A service did not work at P15, but the 30A did. As the pictures show, it was also a soupy mess.
Thing is, with a little effort, a couple of culverts, ditches and crushed rock, the place would drain. It doesn’t have to be this way.
The camp store is small but has a small supply of staples. The issue with the store and registration desk is it doesn’t seem to be there to assist campers. If it was, the girls behind the desk would have some basic camping knowledge and be familiar with the local area - neither is the case. The store is open short hours 0930-1500 (0930-1800 Fri) and closed on Sun.
Trying to be fair, the water view could be nice if you had a waterfront site. Their is a busy frieght train track and highway about 1/4 mile to the west and a commuter train track about a mile to the east. The noise didn’t really bother us. What did bother us was an RV park layout that looked more like the lot where we bought our trailer than what anyone envisions as a place to camp.
Don’t believe the brochure or the park map. This place is not a good deal. It is not well managed or well maintained. It there to trick you into spending your money in the hopes of a tranquil weekend you won’t find. Try it if you must, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
As for us, we’re gonna continue down the highway, looking for places like Lake Gaston Americamp that treats campers better and offers some value for your camping dollar.

We had a great waterfront site. The campground is basically a peninsula. Beautiful views. Only concern is it was a the corner waterfront and had a ton of poles and wires we had to work around to sit and enjoy the view. Very clean well kept RV park. Decent drive to get to anything as its in the middle of no where. They allow big rigs but very few sites available for big rigs. We enjoyed dropping the kayaks in at our site and fishing. I’d stay there again.

Great Spot Right On The Water. We Are Positioned Perfectly That We Are Able To Open Our Passenger windows And Door And Only See The Bay. We Are Right On The Water. Two Problems, Kids Came Down For The Day And What Is There Around Here? Walmart, Movies, Indoor Mini Golf. We Boomers Are Fine Doing Nothing. No Fishing Poles And Too Early In The Season For Crapping Or Pool. Other Problem, Paid For On The Water Campsite And After Paid Said “hopefully You’ll Get One” Thankfully We Did!! Very Happy!

Arrived late, past 10pm. Easy keypad entry w code on keypad itself. Staff had pinned my site assignment on cork board by office door. I wanted a pull thru since it was late and was just passing thru. Was a backin site, but was VERY easy to back in for the nite. Overall nice place. Seemed to be a lot of weekend “regulars” and seasonal renters. Well maintained park w a nice pool and store. Bath house could use a bit of freshening up as it had a run down 1980s feel, but I will say it was clean! I’d stay here again for sure as I pass through the area. Reasonably close to I-95. Passing thru I wouldn’t want to drive much further than I had to for Bar Harbor (maybe 10-mins) but it was worth a safe and comfortable night’s rest. I recommend.

We stayed 1 night.
Firstly it was a very rainy day, so the sites were all extremely flooded as drainage is pretty bad.
Bathrooms were disgusting which even though we rarely use them, we gauge every campsite on clean bathrooms. We find even old bathroom equipment is fine if it’s cleaned regularly. These were gross.
Don’t get site M3 the pull through . So many divots and craters on either side of your pad it’s like a moat around you if it’s rainy .
Lastly , we had to deal the local blacksmith pounding on propane canisters (or something not sure )for 4 hours . We felt like we were in Williamsburg.
The scenery is nice if you get a spot on the water, and the place is easy to get to from I 95. So don’t want to totally bash it. Just being honest from our experience.

Good place to stop for the night ; probably cute in the summer ( April stay)
So don't come in here at night in the winter! We should have known better. It was so dark and hard to find our spot. And it was icy and muddy. But in other seasons, this would be lovely. It's right on the water with a small marina and beach.
