“Library, museum and boyhood home”
Come learn about the 5-star General and 34th President of the United States – Dwight David Eisenhower. Five distinct buildings make up the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum housed on 22 acres. Included are the Boyhood Home, Museum, Research Library, Visitors Center with presidential gift shop and introduction film, and the Place of Meditation – the President’s final resting place. Open 362 days of the year – closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day. Parking is free. Spaces are available for tour buses and recreational vehicles.
This museum and sites deserve two days to be fully appreciated. The World War Ii history is extensive, and visiting exhibits tied in beautifully.
Beautiful campus with several buildings including Eisenhower's boyhood house, museum, library, place of meditation, and gift shop. Great museum with tons of WWII artifacts.
Beautiful grounds. The museum's WWII exhibit was one of the most extensive I've ever seen. I wish that I'd had more time to spend taking it all in. The Place of Meditation was a simple, yet breathtaking experience. The space really did prove to be a quiet spot for meditation. I would recommend this be the final stop, so that you may reflect on the day and President Eisenhower's time while in his presence. This was definitely one of my favorite Presidential Museums that I have visited.
My favorite part was the family home, because of it's preservation- all items located within are original to the Eisenhower family and have been preserved since the President's mother's passing in the 1940's.
The museum is fantastic and full of surprises. Beautiful grounds, as well.
There's so much to love about a Presidential Library. Eisenhower's boyhood home is on the property, which is very cool. This was the first Presidential Library that I ever visited, and I was hooked!
Restricted access because of COVID. However, I’ve been to a couple presidential libraries now, and this one definitely didn’t seem to be the same caliber (Clinton Library and JFK Library, specifically, in comparison seem way more sophisticated/comprehensive. Keep in mind, I didn’t get to see inside the actual museum part of the grounds. At best, I would have given this a 4/5. But with limited access, 3 is high as I can go.
So this is actually closed in Sundays despite the hours listed here. Disappointed
Amazing museum dedicated to the life and works Eisenhower. From childhood to military to politics.
Very cool museum, and historical information, but don’t expect to see any books, the “library” isn’t open to the public. [went in 2017]
The site was a nice and comprehensive look at this time and the impact President Eisenhower had on our history.
