The museum is in the middle of historic Marshall making it an excellent place to explore this very small but cute downtown district. Loved the American Museum of Magic and enjoyed chatting with the Director who was attending to the guests upon arrival. She gave us a brief history of the most important artifacts and some background on the museum. We spent about one hour there; just two floors and very rewarding in size and content.

From National Park Service: The mounds preserved here are considered sacred by many Americans, especially the Monument's 20 culturally associated American Indian tribes. A visit offers opportunities to contemplate the meanings of the mounds and the people who built them. The 200 plus American Indian mounds are located in one of the most picturesque sections of the Upper Mississippi River Valley.
