This is our SD trip to see Butch, John's brother.
We stayed at the KOA. It was a nice place. The first night here there was a tornado on the other end of town. We had both dogs in bed with us and John slept through the whole storm. It shook the camper. The next day/night we had two bad storms but no tornados. The dog park got flooded. We stayed two nights.
De Smet, South Dakota, United States
We went here to see the Laura Ingalls Wilder Homestead. On the way there we followed the google maps and went on a road that should have been closed for flooding. We drove through about 6" of water twice. Then google sent us up this farm road that was partially washed out, we had to turn around. The Homestead was ok, we probably would have liked it better if it wasn't for the ride.
9/13/19 - we stayed here two nights. It was so nice. Great park to walk the dogs. It really filled up Friday night and everyone I met was very chatty. We got to see Butch and Kathy for lunch, that was nice and Butch let us use his truck. This was a fun place. Really nice town.
So the Badlands are amazing. Can't believe that they are natural. There was a big dog park here. It was great to walk the dogs all around. Today going through another section of Badlands National Park, I felt blessed to be able to see it but also very insignificant. We are one very small piece of this world.

We didn't even stop, looked hoaky
This is a beautiful place you can see the Black Hills behind us. This place has a lot to offer but because we are here after labor day a lot of stuff is closed
Mount Rushmore Rd, Rapid City, South Dakota, United States
This was more interesting than Mt. Rushmore. They told the story of the man who created this. He also worked on Mt. Rushmore. He had 10 kids and some of them are working to complete this. It would be nice to see it complete but I don't know if it will happen in my life time.
