We're selling stuff and moving the rest into storage and going on a 2.5 month tour of the south and north west then arriving in Colorado Springs to start life again.

We headed out a day late because the trailer we purchased had a issue - the trailer co. we purchased it from took it back and "fixed" it and off we went! Our rental house or our primary house had not closed yet, but we pre signed the documents so we could still leave... We said goodbye to everyone - it was sad - our new adventure was ahead of us - we had no idea what was in store for us.
Marble Hill, Missouri, United States
We stopped to visit Judah's aunt for one night - she cooked us yummy food, and we had a good time visiting. Before we left that morning our primary residence officially sold - we were able to sign everything else electronically - we were officially homeless..
Our first stop! we did some hikes around the lake, organized the trailer a little more, stocked up on food for the trip and had a camp fire.
This is a fun place - loved being so close to the water - we picked a site with a great view and enjoyed our time here.
We stopped here on our way to the next campground. it was kinda neat to see some of the history...
This place was cool - it was a jeep ride and we got to bring Matilda (the dog) she'd never been to a cave before and I think she really enjoyed it. The cave was actually discovered by a dog - then explored by (3) women with lanterns a LONG time ago...
We stayed here (2) nights it was a nice area with lots of nearby hiking. nothing too amazing - but we had never been to this state before so it was nice to check it out.
We went on a run here and checked out the trails. it was pretty and they had a really nice visitors center.
This is the place we got stranded at. It turns out that our trailer was not fixed. the dealership had drilled a hole in the frame to raise it up, so it LOOKED fixed, but the axle was actually ready to break and the frame was sagging down onto the wheels... We found someone that specializes in trailers to come look at it, and he couldn't believe they had done that. It's a very long story, but we ended up not being able to get a new part as soon as we needed to, and after (3) days stuck in a trailer because of rain and sickness we decided to leave the trailer with our new friend and head out again. The plan was to have him get the part, fix it and then we would find a company to bring it to us - we should not have been farther than New Orleans by then... The RV dealership said they would pay for it since they had made such a huge mistake in selling us a broken trailer and THEN drilling holes in the frame and sending us on our way. - OH and another thing this is a DRY area - so another critical thing was that we were running out of beer and wine and could not restock !!! panic!!! :)
I went for a run here while we figured out what to do about the trailer. it was a nice forest.
Beavers Bend State Park, Lower Mountain Fork River, Fm 259 A, Broken Bow, OK, US
We though about going here but fly fishing lessons were $250/person so we opted to go for a canoe ride instead - Matilda got to come too (her first ever) it was beautiful, warm, and really fun.
We camped here for a night - it was REALLY cold. Matilda was snore shivering most of the night. Judah enjoyed making a fire - I went for a nice evening run. We decided that we would try to avoid camping moving forward and would stay in cabins or airbnb rentals.
This place was neat. we purchased digging tools and dug around for diamonds. we didn't find any, but it was still fun - it's $10/person to dig around for the day, and dogs are welcome.
This was a nice place to stay - a little cabin - much improved from the cold tent...
Not exactly my kind of National Park, but still interesting. it was fun reading about the way they used to do things, and to see the old bath houses and just walk around town... We had a couple beers at a brewery in the "national park" and headed back to Tresure Isle RV park.
301 Camp Street, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States
The trailer was not ready - still no part, but it was ordered... we continued on looking for new places to stay now that we did not have an RV....
Rivera, Uruguay
We went on a really awesome swamp tour and saw a LOT of gaters and birds. it was fun.
We loved this place - really cute old "shack" done up nice inside. no kitchen - but (2) rooms and a living area and a screened porch. Really fun place to stay. We got crawdads and shrimp (the gross kind) at the place down the street - too many of them - they were fun at first, but even Matilda didn't want anymore by the time we were almost done with them. I still don't want anymore a year later...
This was the swamp tour place.
Our rout had us take a free ferry over to the island - Matilda's first time on a ferry - she was scared at first but got used to it. It was strange having a whole trailer on a ferry...
