Little Denmark (Solvang)

I know what you're thinking, Copenhagen, Denmark is so pretty! Well, you may be surprised to know that this isn't actually Copenhagen. In fact, it's thousands of miles and an entire ocean away from the real Copenhagen! You can experience a bit of Denmark at this real Danish village, built by real Danes in the early 1900s, complete with Danish architecture, authentic Danish bakeries, sausages…and basically experience everything Danish at Solvang, Santa Barbara, California! “Velkommen til Danmark”!

Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument

Who doesn't love stumbling across funky geological wonders on a hike?! These cone-shaped “tent rocks”, were formed by volcanic eruptions some 6-7 million years ago. The rad looking formations can easily be spotted after a 1.2 mile hike up the trail at the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in Santa Fe New Mexico.

Bregagh Rd, BLY, GB

The Dark Hedges

This mysterious tree-canopied road is literally straight out of Game of Thrones! The beautiful real-life tree tunnel in Armoy Northern Ireland is also mysteriously called the Dark Hedges. The avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the 18th century on the road towards their mansion, and more than 200 years later, they're still standing and looking as grand as ever. And yes the mansion is still standing too at the end of the tree tunnel, today it's known as Gracehill House golf club.

Reschensee

Yup, that’s a bell tower submerged in water. It's like something out of a dream. It’s also the only structure left visible (unless you’re a scuba diver) after the town of Reschen in South Tyrol, Italy was purposely submerged in water in the 1950’s due to the construction of a huge dam. About 160 buildings are still under the water of Lake Reschen to this day and one can actually walk up to the tower in winter when the lake is frozen solid.

Arisaig Lighthouse

Roses are red, violets are blue, this lighthouse is super cute, and so are you! This adorable and very brightly-colorful lighthouse is located in Arisaig, Nova Scotia. It's an awesome replica of the original that burned down in the 1930s, but with a twist of course...they added a tiny ice cream shop ready to serve you some delicious treats!

221 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA, US

The Broad

"Honey! I Shrunk the Kids!" or is it "Honey! We Shrunk Ourselves!"? Either way... you'll definitely feel tiny when you find yourself in front Robert Therrien's super-sized dining table called "Under the Table" at The Broad in Los Angeles...

Iskar Gerorge, Karlukovo, BG

Prohodna

Have you ever looked through the eyes of a god? Me either, but here's where you can! This is a massive karst cave in Iskar Gorge, Bulgaria called "Prohodna"....otherwise known as the "Eyes of God" cave due to the two large eye-shaped skylights in the center chamber. It's specially amazing during full moon when the moon acts as the eyes' pupil glaring brightly back at you.

Wave Rock Road, WA, AU

Wave Rock

Surf's Up! You don't need a surfboard to have fun at this 46-foot high Wave Rock in Perth, Western Australia. It's a unique natural rock formation formed more than a 100 million years ago, and is part of the Hyden Wildlife Park. And of course there's tons more to see nearby too, like the Hippo's Yawn, Mulka's cave, and The Humps.

Aleea Durgăului 7, CJ, RO

Salina Turda Mine Park

Hmmm... have we stumbled upon Batman's bat cave? ha! I wish... this used to be a salt mine from centuries back, when the mining stopped in 1932 it became a cheese storage facility then a bomb shelter during WWII.. and now in an incredible twist... the 400-foot deep Salina Turda salt mine in Romania became an underground theme park... it doesn't look like it but the rugged cave also houses a ferris wheel, bowling alley, rowboats and even a mini golf course... what d'ya say? Lets go!

Devils Tower National Monument

Is that Mordor? Are we in Middle Earth? Nah, this rad looking massive rock jutting out 1,200 feet above the ground is the Devils Tower in Wyoming. The formation is mostly composed of 6-sided vertical magmatic rock columns resulting in its unique appearance. It holds the distinction as the first United States National Monument, established by President Roosevelt in 1906.

Angel Oak Park

"I think that I shall never a see a poem, lovely as a tree." I gotta admit, poet Joyce Kilmer is onto something with that. The Angel Oak Tree in Johns Island near Charleston, South Carolina is over 400 years old and so wide it will dwarf you with its massive 17,000 sq. feet shade...definitely a cool stop in South Carolina.

Grand Falls

Woohoo! We just found Willy Wonka's chocolate waterfall!! Actually this muddy waterfall is the Grand Falls in Flagstaff Arizona, an awesome sight to see when the snow melts in the nearby mountains at the end of winter producing this yummy looking chocolate-color waterfall. However, it's not very easy to reach due to having no roads with direct access to it, but if you plan to visit make sure to get a Navajo Nation hiking permit first.

602 S. Highway 101, Rockaway Beach, OR, US

The Original Pronto Pup

Don't be fooled, this is no ordinary corndog stand.. This is The Original Pronto Pup in Rockaway beach Oregon. Allegedly, this is the birthplace of the corn dog! Invented by hotdog vendor George Boyington in the 1930's, it's also home to the world's largest corndog and the world's first mechanical riding corndog! It's basically corndog heaven!

Vallensbæk Mose, 84, DK

Little Tilde

Meet Little Tilde, except she's not so little. In fact, she's one of the six "Forgotten Giants" hiding around Copenhagen in Denmark. The other "giants" are Sleeping Louis, Hill Top Trine, Thomas On The Mountain, Teddy Friendly and Oscar Under the Bridge. They were created by Thomas Dambo, using scrap wood and recycled materials designed to make people go on a sort of treasure hunt around the city. And Little Tilde has a secret up her sleeves too...she has 28 birdhouses inside her! Pretty cool huh?

Bodie Historic Park

Welcome to Westworld? I wish! This is actually Bodie State Historic Park, a real Wild West ghost town in Mono County California. Before it became a ghost town and state park, Bodie was a thriving gold mining camp in the 1870's until around 1915 with almost 2,000 buildings. But as with many of these towns, once the gold rush was over, the people left. Today, there are only about 100 buildings left in a state of "arrested decay".

Ugh, I love a sexy, old library... Inside is the Municipal Law Library in Munich Germany, tucked in this century old Neo-Gothic building called the Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall). And it's open to the public too! Shame there are no book of spells here...

1800 Cabrillo Memorial Drive, San Diego, CA, US

Cabrillo National Monument Conservancy

You've probably seen this all over instagram by now...but where exactly is this cool secret sea cave with a massive hole you ask? It's actually a sinkhole and it's part of the Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego... and no it's not too secret nor is it difficult to get to either but you'll probably get a lil' dirty when you visit.

Ngong Ping Rd, Lantau Island, Hong Kong, HK

Tian Tan Buddha

Super massive Buddha alert! This is one of the 5 largest Buddha statue in China... located on the island of Lantau, Hong Kong. The Tian Tan Buddha is a huge bronze statue over 34 meters tall, and weighing over 250 tons. Perched on top of a hill near the Po Lin Monastery, you can get there in style via the Ngong Ping 360 cable car which offers beautiful views of Hong Kong along the way.

Route 8, Morondava, MG

Avenue of the Baobabs

What the... those trees are upside down! These crazy lookin’ centuries-old giant trees are called Baobabs, and they're part of the "Avenue of the Baobabs" in Madagascar. They're also the national tree of Madasacar, and just one of the many weird and awesome things you'll find on this amazing island off the southeast coast of Africa.
