Sturgeon Bay is a city in Northeast Wisconsin. With a population of 9,437 (2000), Sturgeon Bay is the largest city in Door County and serves as a gateway to the peninsula. This popular city is home to many hotels, restaurants and popular tourist attractions.

- The City of Sturgeon Bay controls two special anchorage areas located in the Bay of Sturgeon Bay.
- A mile-long shipping canal, which opened in the early 1880s southeast of Sturgeon Bay, connected the baywith Lake Michigan and created a shorter and safer route for ships between Green Bay and Milwaukee/Chicago.
