1. The Summit Road in Scotts Bluff National Monument is believed to be the oldest existing concrete road in the State of Nebraska. The road allows visitors to drive to the top of the Bluff through 3 tunnels for a spectacular view of the valley.
2. Scottsbluff was founded in 1899 across the North Platte River from its namesake, a bluff that is now a U.S. National Park called Scotts Bluff National Monument.
