“like no other place in ohio”
Live natural cave. Nearly 3/8 of a mile. Contains stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, flow stone, draperies and the rare cave pearls found no other place in Ohio. Experience a 45 minute educational and entertaining guided tour explaining the development of these fascinating formations in this living cave. A new addition dedicated to the memory of George Drouillard, the remarkable mixed-blood Shawnee who was chief hunter, guide and interpreter for the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Drouillard was a nephew of the noted Ohio frontier trader Louis Loramie. The Lewis & Clark expedition and its resulting efforts are most certainly not something for Native Americans to celebrate. We are commemorating the life of our mixed-blood fellow tribesman, George Drouillard, and his contributions to history. The Shawnee Nation, United Remnant Band is the host tribe for the Falls of Ohio Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Commemorative National Signature Event held in October 2003.One of 16 Tribal Museums along the Lewis & Clark Trail.
