This was a typical state park. I stay because they’re reliable and inexpensive. Basic amenities, clean bathrooms, electric hook-ups. Some sites were pretty small, but there are some very large ones as well. It was nicely wooded and a very nice park across the street with ample parking.

Nice place, fairly well kept up. Lakeshore facilities are across the street with hiking trails, beach, small water park for children, and a good sized lagoon filled with a wide variety of birds. Bring a long power cord: each power box serves four campsites.

When we arrived at our reserved site, we were unable to stay in it due to the amount of water and mud. We actually saw one site with ducks swimming in it. However after a short walk to the office we were able to change sites, the girl st the office even wrote a list of available sites for our dates and made suggestions on which sites were best to check out. Overall a pleasant stay. Nice clean shower house and bathrooms.

This campground is convenient to where I need to be when I come to town, so I will probably stay here again. Verizon reception terrible; one bar usually, occasionally two.
When I checked in (no reservation) there was a couple ahead of me that was charged an additional $2.50/nt for making a reservation.

The park was all but empty. Had electric hook ups but only a few sites clear of snow. It was a blast having the place to wander. The lake was awesome. It is open year round which is hard to find in Michigan. Great place to experience winter in Michigan and I would bet even more awesome during warmer seasons. Happy Camping!

Even though this is local for us we love camping here. It can get flooded during really rainy times but for the most part the sites are large, staff is friendly, and grounds are well maintained

We came in late for just a place to rest before heading further north. Drop box available after 10pm (summer). Between 8p-10p there is a yellow phone to check in with. Can book day of until 8pm online. Easy to get into late at night. Big lots. Fire pit. Sites are electric only. Recommend to have extension cord for some sites, as plug in can be far. Website has pictures for sites and will advise if lot gets wet. Staff was very friendly the next morning. Updated our rec pass at the park before leaving. Lots of trails and swimming beach near park.

Bay City State Park was a nice surprise with a lot to offer in biking and walking paths. This is a big campground, but we liked our site and were close to bathrooms and office. Roomy campsites were a plus! Very friendly staff and campers. We would go back.
