“one of the best kept secrets in Nevada!”
Welcome to Cottonwood Cove Resort and Marina on Lake Mohave - one of the best kept secrets in Nevada! We're conveniently located on the Colorado river, just a short drive from Laughlin, NV and Bullhead City, AZ. We're also part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, administered by the National Park Service. This pristine desert lake is approximately 67 miles long and is backed up by Davis Dam on the Colorado River. Lake Mohave is always full and the sparkling calm waters are legendary. Enjoy spectacular scenery, endless beach opportunities, sheer walls, and fascinating canyons along the way hosting names like Black Canyon, Pyramid Canyon, Painted Canyon and Eldorado Canyon. The Cottonwood Cove Resort offers you friendly lakeside accommodations, a full-service RV park and nearby campground facilities. Visit the waterfront Cottonwood Cove Cafe for breakfast, lunch or dinner - they're located right at the marina, only a few steps from the Motel and your houseboat. The full service marina at Cottonwood Cove offers everything from houseboat and powerboat rentals, to repair and supplies. You can rent a fishing or ski boat or a personal watercraft for a few hours, a day or a week. Houseboat rentals are available from 2 to 7 or more days and are available in 3 sizes and 6 configurations.
Cotton Wood was an OK place for our purpose.
Fourteen miles off the beaten path down in the beautiful valley of Lake Mead.
We were looking for a nice site with wifi, to setup up the next leg of our trip, and cable for some down time. We wanted a level site.
Cable was there but did not work at all. Cable ends were missing or not working. Asked neighbors and they said they might on a get 2 channels.
I have to be honest I really cant say for sure about the wifi. I think I remember that it was good.
You can use your Att phone in the camp ground. The fourteen mile trip into or out of the canyon is ATT free, none, notta, narry.
The people running the campground are great.
One last thing and it seems to be true at all campgrounds from St. Louis to California. No one and I mean no one seems to know what kind of stone makes a good campsite. We have see everything from super trashy crush n run to what looks like volcanic ash.
Pebbles people nice pebbles or smooth stone. Something that you would want to walk on, NOT JUST THE CHEAPEST CRAP YOU CAN FIND.
