Sites are not as they are shown in the pictures.
There are two separate campgrounds here, one is the "resort" and one the "campground".
The resort side is actually quite nice, new, grassy, cool (two stars for that). Although the map does show a shower/laundry building it is not complete (Aug 2016) and not usable. There is laundry on the campground side, although it is broken and the staff responded with a shrug when we inquired about the laundry facilities. There are rules for the equipment types that can even stay in the resort, no travel trailers, and motor homes must be above a certain length.
The campground side (no stars) has no grass (although some of the pictures show grass those must be quite old), is very dusty, and cramped. The sites boundaries are not indicated at all, and the entirety of the majority of the sites is sandy dirt. The campground is also in a low area and surrounded by trees, making the dust and the smoke linger for longer than expected, and making the whole area shady and dark even in the middle of the day.
The hook-up location is between every other site, so bring some long extension hoses/cords.
If you have the required equipment go for the "resort" side, otherwise look elsewhere.

We stayed on the resort side but our friends stayed at the campground and we spent lots of time there. Both are very nice, shaded on the campground side. Resort is beautiful, we had lots of space, clean, level site and worth the extra money. About 5 miles from Empire and the dunes on the National Shoreline. So proud to be born in this beautiful state!

Compared to our few other stays at campgrounds, this was our best for what we needed. First off, we made a reservation for 4 nights LAST MINUTE and they accommodated us. I blame it on luck though. The spaces very very clean and spacious that we needed two extension cords for our 30 amp that THEY graciously supplied. Again, we’re new to the trailer, to the camping game but the trash pick up at 10am...we feel spoiled. Campground for younger families and larger rigs though we saw some tent campers and 14’’ tiny rigs. Two thumbs up!

Packed in tight, large park. Ideal for seeing the area. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park is very close. Lots of beaches to search out.

We usually avoid private campgrounds due to their ugly, cramped tendency and usually opt for state or national campgrounds instead. We were unable to get a site at Sleeping Dunes National Lakeshore (just 15 minutes away) so we found ourselves here instead and were pleasantly surprised. Our kids were thrilled with the large, old school playground and nicely landscaped pool. We opted for the sites nearest these amenities. I appreciated the more generously sized sites than typical and trees throughout the campground. Only negative was the sites are rather sandy/dusty.

We stayed 3 nights here and found everything excellent. Private lots with lots of shade trees, very nice amenities and our site looked out over a horse farm. What could be better. Overall pretty quiet and peaceful and close to so much

Pictures are very deceiving, the "resort " has a fence around it with a gate, it's very nice over there, not sure who they are trying to keep out. Same pricing as the " campground " side. The campground sites are dirt, our site had dog poop all over, the barn behind you smells so bad we asked to move, and was told to pay an extra $25 per night. We left a day early after we stepped in dog poop 50 times, You do have to pay 25cents for a shower,. Only good thing is it's close to the Dunes.

Nothing onsite here. We arrived in our motorhome and e-bikes without a towed car. All the trails, sightseeing, attractions, etc. listed on their website require a car or other vehicle. We rode our bikes to Empire (about 4 miles away) but you are on a two lane, 55 MPH state highway on a very steep hill (drops about 700' in the first 1/2 mile).
For the premium pricing with zero onsite amenities, I would expect really nice sites However, they were small and narrow dirt sites. These were on par with a heavily used state park site.
We left after four days even though we forfeited the other six days of our prepaid stay.
