Great museum put together by volunteers. Staff was very friendly and sweet. Bathrooms very clean and with more photos on the walls as a bonus.
No signs or view at these coordinates
Didn’t go :( no dogs allowed.
Beautiful hike, but can be a confusing area. Navigation takes you to Tubbs Rd. Little free library had a few maps inside. Road dead ends and trails can be accessed from this area. On the map we used, Tubbs Rd is labeled as W Pine Ave.
Apparently the actual trailhead is located at 210 S 3rd St. Better info and a map is on the city of Coeur d’Alene website.

Navigate button did not take me to the ponds. Google shows it’s in a different spot. Didn’t back track to go visit.
Cost is $10 for each adult. We were hoping for a quick stop. Decided not to spend the money as we had many other things to do for the day.
Roadtrippers coordinates take you to the top of the cliff dwellings. Can’t see it from there. You’re better off searching for it on google maps and using their directions.
The actual name is Blue Mustang. Seems many people call it Blucifer as well.
The history is interesting, and a bit scary.
The Roadtrippers coordinates take you through the parking lot. Don’t worry, we were able to drive right through without having to pay.
Google maps directions also work, without worrying about the parking lot. Search “Blucifer” or “Blue Mustang” If you search “El Mesteno”, you will not find it.
As you leave, you pass the mustang again. It is on the left side both times.
There are a lot of no parking or stopping signs along the road and no place to properly stop to take pictures of it. We didn’t want to risk getting in trouble for up close pictures.
There were rumors online that it would be removed or moved to another location. As of June 2019, Blucifer is still there!
Enjoy! And be safe!
Cool stop. Located in the Cabela’s parking lot.
