We loved it! Worth the drive up from Salt Lake City. Very well laid out, helpful, informative, educational. There are two working steam engines on site that recreate the iconic image but also some great short hikes. We couldn't take the RV on the driving tour so we walked part of it instead.
Great campground, small, quite, clean. If waterfalls are your objective this is the place to stay. There are many in the vicinity.
I've been to many state parks all over the country and this has got to be one of the best. Fantastic campground, beach, hiking, history...
Under restoration all summer but still worth the drive up just for the view!
This is a small campground that we chose because it was close enough to the Saratoga and Lake George region but it was wooded and quiet. The site was plenty big enough for our popup and had water and electric hookups. The highlight was a fast moving river flowing through the back of the campground where we went swimming at the end of each day. If we find ourselves back in New England we will certainly stop back at this campground. The Green Mountains are beautiful.
This was a brief 2 night stay while we were passing through and visiting the historic sites in the area. The campground was very clean, well-maintained and all sites were level and dry and had all the working functions needed. Most of all there was the sweetest woman working at the desk. She was helpful, informative, and seemed to truly care that we had a good time and that our wants/needs were met. When not in the office she was even out handling the maintenance. She always had a smile on her face and was friendly and cheerful. Her presence has an impact and shows that they really care. I would stay there again and I would recommend Anvil to anyone.
