An incredible stop for rock and roll history lovers. For $5 you can explore the space, peering at walls graffitied by the likes of Mick Jagger, Bob Seeger, and Rod Stewart, and listening to the music created within those walls. There's lots of merchandise and the donations go towards turning the space back into a functioning studio again!

This was absolutely worth the price of admission. If you like science, or just really amazingly preserved historic places, this is one. We stopped by on 4th of July, and they were open, which was amazing since we were looking for something to do. Every one on our road trip still talks about our visit to the meteor crater.

Metropolis, IL was one of my favorite stops last year. The fun stuff is quite a ways off the interstate, but it was worth it. The statue is a perfect photo opportunity and the shop/museum is super charming, with some hard to find memorabilia.

This was a great opportunity to break up the long monotonous drive that the turnpike can be. It's easy to park and take pictures, and the only ones that seemed to notice were the dogs that lived at the house that shared the land. We parked at the golf course, took our pictures, and were back on the road. There's no food super close by, but you have to pass a lot on your way back to the turnpike, so it's pretty convenient!
