We loved it! We took our 3 young children along and even they enjoyed looking at all the beautiful cars! My husband loves cars so he thoroughly enjoyed it. They also have a sinkhole exhibit due to the incident destroying several of their cars in 2014 so you get to see the crushed cars and the progress of repairing one of them. Great stop!!
There is construction right now so you can only get to the arch from one direction without walking forever. We had 3 young kids with us so waiting for an hour and a half wasn't very pleasant due to only one side working currently to get to the top. The kids loved the ride up and down in the pod though and the view from the top is pretty neat! So if you are wanting to go with young children, I would highly suggest waiting until both sides of the arch are up and running again! Also I found a coupon online for Buy 1 Adult ticket, get a Child ticket free!
This is a cute place to stop especially with young children. The kids as well as us adults loved the tram ride you take from the front entrance to the farm area. The guide gives lots of history about the farm and points out animals on the way to the farm. They offer a fun pass for $5 that gets you one ride on the carousel, 2 milk bottles to feed goats, and a sno cone. We split the card between our 3 kids and saved $1 that way.
Great zoo! Very nice large "natural" feel habitats for many of their animals. Great selection of animals as well. The animals all seem very healthy and well taken care of. The zoo itself is very well maintained and has beautiful landscaping. The manatees were awesome! If you love this zoo, you need to check out the Omaha Zoo. Columbus Zoo is only second to Omaha to our family.
Love this place! We brought our 3 young children here and had a blast playing in the water of Lake Michigan and running through the sand of the dunes. So beautiful and relaxing. If you come into Indiana Dunes State Park area, you need to pay $6 as a Indiana resident per car or $12 for out of state resident. This area has a huge parking lot though that is super close to the water. Well worth the stop!
Love this zoo SO much! The new renovations done in 2016 have made it even better! It is beautiful and the indoor exhibits are wonderfully done making a more "natural" looking habitat for their animals. We love the Jungle, Aquarium, and Desert Done including the Night Life downstairs in the dome! Camel rides, feeding the giraffes, train rides, ski lift, IMAX, and sting ray touch pool cost extra but are all available.
So good!!! A little pricy and a smaller menu of unique items but so delicious! I had the blueberry chicken breast and sweet potato fries. So worth the stop!
Now called ReUnion Brewery. Food was all ok. Nothing special.
Over all, pretty good experience. There is quite a selection of tacos and you buy them individually so you get what you want rather than a platter of some things you want and some you don't. They were mostly priced between $3 & $4. I tried both the carnitas and the pollo asada. Both were excellent!! Kansas City burnt ends was ordered by another at our table and was great as well! The only disappointment to us was the kids' meals. They were $6 a piece and not great. The amount of food was not $6 worth either. I wouldn't go there again with kids.
Was not too impressed with the zoo itself so if you are looking for a good zoo experience, I would recommend the Minnesota Zoo instead!
