A beautiful, quiet spot. We stayed here between the bustle of Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone and it was so serene. A place to relax, hike and see natures beauty.

This is what I looked forward to seeing most. It is so packed though because I'm obviously not alone! Wish we had a chance to do the hike from above, but it's still breathtaking at eye level and there are so many gorgeous springs around the area as well.

Well run, clean bathrooms, sinks for washing dishes and bear lockers for your food. Friendly staff and great location in proximity to the park. Showers are about $4 for as long as you want and located a short drive down the road.

You can pay $20+tax to stay on a small patch of weedy grass with nothing but a porta pottie, or you can drive a mile north to the National Forest of Couer d'Alene and stay in a bigger, nicer campsite with a fire pit and a porta pottie for free. We got a refund after seeing what we paid for and found a new spot for free in 5 minutes. They also weren't friendly people....

Great basic campground close to everything you could need. No complaints! Make sure you book plenty ahead if you want a spot, especially in the busy months!

I would skip this and go to Jacob's Well if you have a time limit. Entry fee is a little steep for a swim. Looks like a lot of locals have passes and spend the day there. It is a fun stop with a rope swing and shallow and deep areas, but just not worth the cost if you ask me. Jacob's Well is free and much more fun.

Probably one of the few water holes in Texas that was free. It was a hot summer day, so the cold water felt great. It was crowded, but super fun. People lined up on the rock to jump off into the deep well. It was scary and a great thrill! I jumped a couple times and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Nice state park. We just stopped for a night for a place to stay on our road trip. Camping price was cheap and fair, no frills or thrills. Good bathroom, nice playground for kids.

They certainly have a lot of stuff here! On our Route 66 drive of New Mexico, this was by far the most exciting stop (not sure if that's saying much!).

Unfortunately they had recently received a bit of water damage to some of the wigwams and ours happened to be one of them. Fortunately we still got to see inside the wigwam and we were upgraded for free to a bigger hotel room and given a free wigwam ornament. :) Friendly staff, lots of Route 66 and petrified forest memorabilia. If you are on Route 66 and looking for a cool spot to sleep, book ahead and stay here.
