This is a private home that is currently vacant but on a working farm. It is easily viewable from the road if you don’t want to trespass. It was my 8 Great Grandfathers home so I love being able to find it and see this beautiful valley.
Interesting, sad & absolutely fascinating all at the same time. Perfect road-trip spot to stretch your legs. It’s very isolated but right along the freeway so it’s fast & easy. Read up on the artist while you are there, I found it thought provoking and my road-tripping partner and I had an interesting discussion about white man and our invasion of native lands. I think it’s a great conversation facilitator if you’re looking for one, this is a great spot.
One of my favorite towns. Great spot with something for everyone, history, shopping, gambling, and tons of great site seeing in town and surrounding area. Family friendly. Trolley does a great job of getting you around within Deadwood and to & from your hotel. Chubby Chipmunks is my favorite chocolate shop in the country. Literally something for everyone and a great home base to explore the Black Hills. Two thumbs up.
