I like this place very much. It is a place that maintains a come-as-you-are style which is a very special thing. They have all the good basic diner foods. I've had their burger and biscuits and gravy. I'm sure everything is good. Check it out for authentic OTR flavor.
I used to go here years ago. Their pancakes and hash were really good. It looks like they've redecorated the inside. Looks nice.
This is the best place to hang out and catch some rays on a sunny day. It's right near the panhandle too, so it's not too far into the park if you're coming from the east.
This is my favorite hotel in San Francisco. It has a pretty great bar/restaurant.
This is a great budget option if you're looking for a hotel in SF. It's a little off the beaten path, but if you're looking to save some bucks, it's a winner. I've stayed here when in town for work because my office was nearby and it was a really great deal. The staff is really nice, it has a neat feel and I think there are bikes available to borrow and ride around town. I think if you stay here you will meet others who are doing the city on a budget.
The bar at Hotel Kabuki is a great place to get a drink while waiting to get into R&G Lounge.
Alamo Square offers a pretty good view of downtown and includes the Painted Ladies. It's a popular tourist destination, with tourist busses frequently dropping off people. Having a picnic here is possible only on warmer days, as this park is VERY WINDY. In addition to the view, it also has a tennis court, and a short walk to the other side you can meet friendly dogs at the dog park.
This place is closed for good.
This is an OK Holiday Inn. I gave it a 4 because it's very close to Kewpee, Lima's special burger joint.
The trail is a short but strenuous climb. The beginning crosses some very nice creeks. Half way through the hike begins to get much more strenuous up to the rocky part. Once at the top, there's a rocky climbing/scrambling part to the overlook. I recommend wearing grippy shoes if you plan on doing the last part. All together I recommend it as a quick, moderately difficult hike with some cool scenery and lookouts.
