Very well maintained, friendly staff and volunteers, and not too squished together if you are camping. The river is accessible, the bike trail easy and stretching for more than a couple of miles. You are right off of the Interstate 5 highway, so if being lulled to sleep by the roar of passing trucks and occasional trains suits you well, this is your dream spot! If not, be sure to keep looking around the area.

There is quite simply no place like this on earth. Awe inspiring. Profound. The hikes and trails and history -- all special and clear. The rangers and visitor center - great. And even driving through there are ample pull offs, so you can be totally in the majesty of it all. Get out and walk though. You won't regret it.

Great for young kids and families. Super friendly staff, lots of casual amenities and river floats are a highlight for the days. The sites for camping are pretty packed in, and there's a lot of dust when the days are dry. They water it down regularly but it's worth mention. Again, super friendly and fun - close to so much of Big Sur's amazing ness that you can't go wrong.
