Stayed here for one night over Labor Day weekend 2018. Absolutely adorable, quaint little motel. The recently new owner, Mike, is doing all that he can to improve this property. A tray of warm cookies upon check-in was an added bonus. And coffee and donuts in the morning was cool too! They still have real keys for the door! The room was very clean and the bed is super comfortable. The AC worked great and no complaints on anything. I will definitely be staying here again without a doubt and recommend it highly!!
Would be nicer if trails were better marked & maybe some outhouses around. But great other then that. Not much wildlife on my trip but they cannot control that. :)
Wade & Brook are the best!! If you need ANYTHING, just ask! Spent 5 nights and this is the quietest camp I've EVER stayed at. BEST HOT SHOWER too!! Can't wait to come back next year!!
I would stay anywhere but here again. Carpets are filthy, place reeks of cigarette smoke, it looks like most of the furnishings are from the local yard sales. Had issues and it took me standing firm with a manager to get any type of a discount on the room. DEFINATELY NOT up to the Wyndham chain standards. Bathroom wallpaper was even scotch tape it together. It was very sad.
A great spot & the pictures are gorgeous. However we did not fight the crowds for the sunrise pictures, mid afternoon they were still beautiful. People were polite and taking turns and allowing others to get their photographs. Take some time to look around at other angles for the views. Remember to stay off the arch!!
Memorial day 2016 was an absolutely perfect day!! Sun was shining brightly, temperatures in the upper 80s, with a slight breeze and some high clouds. Hike out was great. The hike back is all uphill. Took about 2.5 hrs round-trip and that is with stopping and having lunch in the Kiva. Remember to pack it in and pack it out and leave no trace. This is a class II geological site and it's not meant for everyone. Be respectful, stay out of the circle, and leave the place better than you find it!! Reminder, people come for the peace and quiet, not to hear the hip-hop music blaring from your iPhone. Ran into group of teenagers that were completely disrespectful but once I asked them politely to please turn it down and be respectful, they were (at least while we were still there). Enjoy the adventure!!
Pretty but much smaller than the online photographs. They are still in the process of completion as there is no real kitchen facility at this venue. One would definitely have to use an outside caterer to utilize this facility. While it is nice there could be much more potential here.
This is also known as Cahokia mound. Interesting history and very under visited attraction. Glad we found this place on Roadtripper!!
Great hidden jams and not crowded at all. It is a bit out-of-the-way but well worth the drive. Second tour I went on only had two other people on it! It was awesome! Definitely worth the trip.
OMG!!!!!!!!.... best brisket ever. Definitely worth the drive and wait.
