Great beach to visit if you want to see sea turtles! When we went it was too cold to go in the water but we walked around, admiring the crashing waves and black sands. The best part were sea turtles resting on the beach! The turtles have a cordoned off area that you can stand by and take pictures, or just enjoy.

Beautiful views. We took a few hours and drove through the Colorado National Monument, stopping a couple times to walk along some of the easier trails. Gorgeous views and rock formations. I took a ton of photos and had a great time. Be sure to have water and sunscreen if you want to get out and walk around, we were baking.

We had a difficult time even finding the Pawnee National Grassland. There was a lot of driving down dirt roads hoping we were heading in the right direction as there isn't a whole lot of signage to indicate you're on the right path. After hours of getting turned around and driving through grasslands we finally arrived to see...grasslands and two small buttes.

My friend was fed up enough by that point that she refused to get out of the car. I took a few pictures and we headed back to Ft. Collins.

I recommend visiting if you feel like going for a mellow drive and keep your expectations low.

A must-have experience. We drove through the Rocky Mountain National Park on our way to Fort Collins. Stunning scenery. A camera is a must. There were many places to pull over to view the wildlife, take photos, and just enjoy your surroundings. I wish we'd had more time to stay and explore the trails.

This park wasn't on our original itinerary but we had several locals recommend it and I'm very glad we listened. It ended up being my favorite part of our road trip around Colorado.

Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking. One of the my favorite places we visited on our road trip around Colorado. The dunes don't seem very big when you're driving up but then you arrive and realize their sheer scale.

The sand is pretty tiring to walk on but if you're physically fit you can hike away. I took a picture of a huge dune with these tiny black dots on top and the tiny black dots were people who'd hiked all the way to the top.

Good place to visit if you want to go for a bit of a hike. There's a super steep, scary staircase to climb up to reach the top of the falls. At the top there are a couple trails. We hiked down one and it was a very beautiful walk through the woods.

Also they have the fattest chipmunks that run in and out of the gift store.

Beautiful rock formations. Easy trails to walk through and see everything up close.
